With a 6 bed Birth Suite, 29 bed Maternity Unit and 9 bed Special Care Unit your work will be fast paced and very rewarding.This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging Midwifery Manager to join the Women's and Children's nursing and midwifery leadership team. Professional development opportunities and mentoring available.The role:The Nurse Unit Manager:

• Provides leadership to the Maternity Unit, Launceston General Hospital.
• Ensures the efficient and effective provision of care, based on clinical standards and best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework by coordinating the clinical, management, education and nursing research functions within the Maternity Unit.
• Leads and manages the coordination of overall patient care and is responsible for managing the allocated human, material and financial resources for service delivery within the Maternity Unit, Launceston General Hospital.

Salary: $126,411 - 132,325 pro rata per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 and Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013

Eligibility:Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. * Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable: * Relevant post graduate qualifications.The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted: * Conviction checks in the following areas:

• crimes of violence
• sex related offences
• serious drug offences
• crimes involving dishonesty
• Identification check
• Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
