About the role:
A great opportunity exists for an experienced and enthusiastic Nurse Manager to lead our Paediatrics & Special Care Nursery Team. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing & Midwifery, this role will see you provide clinical leadership and operational management of the Paediatrics & Special Care Nursery Unit. You will be responsible for ensuring that safe and high-quality clinical patient care standards are upheld.
The role is a Monday - Friday, full time ongoing position.

Tamworth Hospital is a major referral hospital located in the northern region of the Hunter New England Local Health District. Our 288-bed facility includes Intensive Care, rehabilitation services, a Brain Injury Unit, Diabetes Centre and high dependency unit. Our supportive and skilled team are eager to welcome you!
You will work within our Paediatrics & Special Care Nursery Team, alongside a supportive team of highly skilled nurses. This role will see you expand your knowledge and strengthen your links with community services. You will gain experience working across a multidisciplinary team of health workers.
The purpose of the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager Special Care Nursery, Child and Adolescent Services is to lead, direct and co-ordinate patient care to ensure that the practice of nursing and/or midwifery is safe and efficient in maintaining standards of care through continual quality improvement initiatives. As the leader of the unit, you will demonstrate your capability through attitude, skills, behaviour and attributes including professional integrity.
About You:
We are looking for a committed and flexible leader who is comfortable operating in a fluid environment and has the ability to respond rapidly and effectively to changing circumstances.
As an accomplished Nurse Manager, you have a genuine passion for the paediatric patient care with demonstrated clinical leadership in this field. You are a high achiever who has delivered successful outcomes across service delivery, resource management, and professional and technical competence areas. You communicate effectively and are able to build rapport and engage others at all levels to deliver outcomes in a timely manner.
This role would suit a dynamic individual with excellent nursing and leadership skills and demonstrated expertise in delivering clinical excellence in a professional manner. Demonstrated experience in managing a multidisciplinary team, excellent communication skills and the ability to strategically plan will be essential to your success in this position.

- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
