Roles & Responsibilities
Overseeing and improving the daily functions of the nursery.
Ordering nursery stock including pots, fertilisers, and tools.
Preparing potting media and propagating plants for Gulkula’s mine rehabilitation programs.
Fertilising plants and monitoring for potential insect and disease infestations.
Monitoring and managing watering times and soil conditions.
Controlling the inventory of plants and supplies to meet mine rehabilitation requirements.
Maintaining records for all nursery activities.
Undertaking seed collection, drying, fumigation and cleaning activities.
Undertaking weed management activities.
Assisting in annual mine rehabilitation planting programs
Qualifications & Experience
Experience working in a nursery.
Knowledge of plant production, soil and growing media, fertilisers, and propagation techniques.
‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous Australians.
Experience working 10+ hour shifts in remote areas within Australia.
