Within its Research Programs and Services Branch, individuals have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in administering grants for the Discovery and Linkage Programs, as well as executing projects on behalf of other Commonwealth agencies.
Position Overview:
As a APS5 Program Officer, you'll manage various aspects of grant programs, blending project management, stakeholder engagement, and administration skills. From application support to project oversight, you'll contribute to high-quality outcomes and foster innovation within the branch.

- Must be an Australia citizen.
- Undergo ID verification check.
- Undergo a Police Check
- Previous qualifications and/or experience related to program and/or project management would be desired but not essential.
- Support and manage grant administration tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Interpret and apply policy, procedures, guidelines, and legislation consistently.
- Provide clear, accurate, and timely advice to research sector and external stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration and manage professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Use our Research Management System (RMS) and other internal systems to manage tasks effectively.
- Propose and facilitate innovation initiatives to improve business practices.
- Contribute to team building, workplace culture, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in managing projects and/or programs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage high-level stakeholders.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for innovation.
