Australian Ecosystems are a market-leading landscape construction and maintenance business that creates award winning public open spaces including wetlands, sustainable communities and undertakes ecological restoration projects. The business also owns and operates a state-of-the art nursery that grows several million native plants per annum.
The Nursery is currently undergoing an exciting growth and development stage. We are upgrading our operations and systems to the latest industry technology, enabling us to become a leading supplier and to keep up with the ever-increasing demand for quality native plants.
The Nursery Sales Manager will develop and implement a sales strategy that aligns with the overall nursery and organizational goals and targets. As a key member of the leadership team, they will work closely with the Nursery Manager and business leaders to achieve sales and marketing objectives and targets. They, will conduct market research, identifying sales opportunities and sales channels, identify, approach and acquire clients to build sales to meet Nursery Sales budgets. They will establish engaging professional relationships with all stakeholders both internally and externally whilst continually working proactively to understand and meet customer needs. They will be a member of the senior leadership team, lead others and actively contribute to the overall organizational strategy.
Qualifications & experience- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sales role (ideally in the horticulture/landscape/nursery or environmental space but not essential).
- Experience in managing CRM systems and with proficient IT skills across relevant Microsoft Office packages and nursery inventory programs.
- Excellent problem solving, analytical, communication, time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated track record of successful sales strategy development and execution, including achieving set targets and KPIs.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a positive and can-do attitude.
- Great teamwork and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all stakeholders
- The preparation and negotiation of sales contracts and orders.
- The delivery of a high level of customer service to both our internal and external clients.
- Build relationships with existing and new clients across horticultural, retail nursery and landscape industries, local and state government agencies and others across Greater Melbourne, Geelong and Regional Victoria
- Provide feedback on product pricing compared to competitors.
- Identify, attract and engage new business opportunities.
- Provide quotes for clients, and work with our nursery management team to ensure plants are available on time for clients
- Regularly attend industry events and field days and help organize AE marketing events
- Provide regular updates to Nursery manager and finance team on targets and KPI’s.
- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, competitors' products, prices, sales, regulatory and legal conditions.
