The nursery operates as a retail and wholesale outlet and is accredited with the Nursery Industry Association of Australia. As a Nursery Technician you will join the staff and volunteers at Apace, who work collaboratively across all functions of the organisation. Your role includes plant propagation and supply, nursery maintenance, pest control, stock control, and customer relations.
The skills and experience we are looking for include:
- Commitment to the environment.
- Knowledge and experience of plant propagation techniques and practices.
- Knowledge and experience in planting techniques and practices in a nursery setting.
- Physically fit and capable of demanding outdoor work in different weather conditions.
- Able to fit in with a small team and work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and volunteers.
- Current C Class Manual Driver's License.
It would also be great if you had any of the following:
- Qualification in Horticulture or Conservation and Land Management.
- Certificate in Work Health and Safety.
- Knowledge of the flora of Western Australia, in particular the Swan Coastal Plain and Darling Range.
