Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer/Nursery Technician

This position will coordinate the Work Health, Safety and Wellbeing (WHS&W) function within Apace WA in addition to contributing to Nursery production. You will supervise and coordinate Apace's implementation of WHS&W policy and procedures. You will actively promote an organisational culture and practices which create a work environment that provides for the WHS&W of all staff and volunteers. As a Nursery Technician, you will join the Nursery team in the operations of our retail and wholesale nursery.
Key responsibilities include:
- WHS&W Management, Systems and Reporting.
- Plant Propagation and Supply.
- Nursery Maintenance and Stock Control.
- Customer Relations.
- Participation in Apace sustainability - meetings, planning sessions and evaluations.
We're looking for someone with the following skills or experience:
- Certificate in Work Health and Safety.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Experience in using tools & machinery, such as drills, chainsaws, mowers and brush cutters.
- Knowledge and experience of plant propagation techniques and practices.
- Knowledge and experience in planting techniques and practices in a nursery setting.
- Physically fit and capable of demanding outdoor work in different weather conditions.
- Able to fit in with a small team and work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and volunteers.
- Current C Class Manual Driver's License.
Terms and Conditions: This is a full time position.Your classification will be Grade 5 in the Nursery Award 2020.
