Access theAbout the roleThe Nursing Director - Education & Research provides strategic leadership and management for nursing and midwifery Education and Research and acts as a lead partner for interprofessional Education and simulation across West Moreton Health (WMH).The Nursing Director role:
- has an advanced level of professional clinical leadership expertise and practice.
- has an advanced level of collaborative decision making.
- provides operational leadership and management based on nursing and broader health policy and regulatory frameworks.
- works collaboratively across disciplines to apply the principles of effective clinical governance; and
- applies professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a broad understanding and application of nursing/midwifery leadership which influence and impact both professions into the future state.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of professional nursing/midwifery practice, the legislative framework for nurses/midwives and contemporary nursing/midwifery theory and practice.
- Demonstrate advanced capability in stakeholder consultation and engagement, employing highly developed written and oral communications that influence effectively and achieve desired outcomes.
- Demonstrate advanced experience in the application of key financial principles and effective resource management practices in complex health service environments.
- Demonstrate advanced capability to use clinical information and other relevant information technology systems to support decision making, achieve effective business processes and facilitate quality improvement strategies.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experienced application of the principles and processes of change management and can apply a range of strategies to successfully negotiate organisational change.
- Demonstrate commitment to professional development of self and others, identifying strategy and experiences that evidence this.
- Post graduate qualifications relevant to Education and/or research are required.
