About the Role:
People and Culture:

  • Practice in accordance with the hospital and relevant Government Health policies and procedures, the position description, Code of Conduct and industrial agreements
  • Work in accordance with the hospital mission and vission and actively participate in developing a culture that promotes values of healing, hospitality, stewardship and respect
  • Support colleagues and staff with a professional aptitude
  • Respect and maintain confidentialit
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills at all levels within the organisation.

Professional:

  • Management and coordination of clinical practice, financial resources, and strategies to enhance the development and promotion of the clinical specialty(ies)
  • Promote the strategic direction and business objectives of the organisation and unit/department
  • Demonstrate leadership in facilitating the implementation of new initiatives as identified within the nursing division's strategic plan
  • Maintain accurate written and verbal reports

Service Development & Performance:

  • Demonstrate, promote and maintain professional standards in a team environment on the ward/unit.
  • Actively seek and participate in educational opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development
  • Acknowledge and participate in quality improvement activities

Decision Making:

  • Work within hospital policy and procedures, and collaboratively within multidisciplinary team in making management decisions
  • Identify and enhance the professional development of others

Community Engagement:

  • Identify and understand the needs and expectations of customers
  • Deliver prompt, courteous and professional responses to internal and external customer requirements

WH&S Responsibilities

  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and the health and safety of others in the workplace;
  • Comply with relevant Calvary WHS policies, procedures, work instructions and requests;
  • Report to your supervisor any incident or unsafe conditions which come to your attention

The role Reports to:

  • Director of Clinical Services / Clinical Services Coordinator

Direct Reports:

  • Level 1 & 2 Registered Nurses
  • Enrolled Nurses
  • Ward Clerk
  • Hospital Assistants

About You:

  • Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated management, organisational and leadership skills at management level
  • A relevant post-graduate qualification
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Proven experience in customer relations
  • Understanding of financial and human resource management in the private sector
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary / interdisciplinary team
  • Covid-19 Vaccination is a mandatory requirement
