About the Ward
Hyson Green is a private 46 bed facility with the recent expansion. Hyson Green offers voluntary in-patient programs and support for more than 500 patients a year who exhibit common Mental Health conditions including anxiety, depression and mood disorders. Our team is passionate in supporting patients to achieve their best possible outcomes with high quality tailored programs to suit individual needs.

About the role
Forming a valuable part of our senior management team, the Nurse Unit Manager will provide optimal leadership and management, assuming responsibility and accountability for the standard of clinical care delivered and the operational performance of the of the Mental Health Ward. They will be influential in creating a professional environment and fostering a respectful culture where interdisciplinary team members are able to collaborate effectively to positively impact patient outcomes and professional growth.
What you bring
Essential
- Registered Nurse who holds current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Post Graduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
- Experience in drug and alcohol nursing.
- Demonstrated skills in leadership and senior management within a health care environment.
- Sound knowledge of current clinical practice, its delivery and models of care and the ability to motivate, inspire and lead staff to achieve service and professional goals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary management practice and the ability to lead and manage staff in an environment of change.
- Experience in rostering; managing skill mix and care delivery models according to patient/service need.
- COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory requirement unless assessed exempt.
