SalaryQueenslands premium floating entertainment vessel Oasis Brisbane is looking for a skilled Captain for casual hours but open to full time.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Commercial Skipper, who is well presented with a friendly manner and has excellent crew management skills. As the Captain, you will be responsible for the safe operation and navigation of our vessel, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, and overseeing the crew as we cruise the Brisbane River.
Responsibilities will include:
Assume command of Oasis Brisbane and ensure its safe and efficient operation.
Manage and supervise the crew, providing guidance and support as needed.
Navigate the vessel on the Brisbane River using charts, radar, and other navigational aids.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of maritime regulations and ensure compliance at all times.
Oversee the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring it is done safelv and efficiently.
Communicate with port authorities, other vessels, and crew members to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor and maintain the vessel's equipment, safety systems, and emergency procedures.
Prepare reports and documentation as required by company policies and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
Valid Captain's license (STCW 95, 1E), MasterCLASS 4 Certification and other relevant certifications.
Extensive experience as a Captain or Officer on similar vessels.
In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to make quick decisions and handle challenging situations effectively.
Excellent navigational and technical skills.
Physically fit.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Hold a clean and current full drivers licence.
Proficient in English (written and spoken).
Available for rostered work on regular weekends and some public holidays.
