Objectstar Database Admin

Compas is seeking an ObjectStar Database Admin to join a Federal Government Department for a long-term engagement. The successful candidate should have experience in the migration of data from ObjectStar Table Data Store (TDS) to DB2(z/OS).

• Initial until 12-month contract with extensions
• NV1 clearance or the ability to obtain one quickly
• Canberra location only

The ObjectStar Database Administrator will be involved with the migration and decommissioning of ObjectStar databases.

Responsibilities

• Support the migration of data from ObjectStar Table Data Store (TDS) to DB2(z/OS). This migration may include duties in the following: Migration of ObjectStar TDS to DB2(z/OS).
• Create table definitions in DB2 (z/OS).
• Creation of alias of ObjectStar to new DB2 tables.
• Usage of FORALL INSERTS to copy data to new datastore Analysis, modification and recompiling of existing COBOL modules.

Desired Skills and Experience

• 5+ Years of experience in ObjectStar database environments.
• 3+ or more years of extensive experience in COBOL, JCL and VSAM.
• Experience in the DB2 database and Db2 tools.
