St John Ambulance (Vic) has been saving lives and delivering care and compassion throughout Victoria for 140 years. Our volunteers and our staff are the lifeblood of everything we do. We are currently recruiting for a Trainer to deliver training & assessment of First Aid courses to our corporate & public clients in Wodonga and surrounding areas.
The Opportunity
St John Commercial Trainers are part of a team that positively impacts our community through the education and promotion of First Aid.
Trainers deliver training and assessment in First Aid, healthcare, mental health and wellbeing and other related areas to corporate and public clients, and provide education to the public at community program events.
They conduct training courses in accordance with national frameworks, training quality standards, as well as organisational policies, procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent student experiences by delivering engaging training and assessment in First Aid
- Engage with members of the public a in a range of community settings to promote First Aid awareness and education
- Maintain compliance with St John policies and RTO standards and participate in professional development
- Work collaboratively with the training team to achieve high standards of performance
- This role will require travel to regional areas surrounding Wodonga
- You will be a have a positive & engaging communication style
- You will hold a relevant qualification for the delivery of Vocational Education & Training to meet the RTO standards. Newly qualified trainers are welcome to apply and will be supported by a comprehensive onboarding program
- Experience as a First Aid responder, healthcare professional or in emergency management or a related field
- A demonstrated passion for training & education in the field of health, safety, First Aid or other related field
- Ability to administer First Aid to own level of training
- Basic IT skills and the ability and willingness to learn new technology
- Have a current driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Travel time and vehicle use is reimbursed for regional travel
