The Division takes the lead role in the attraction, retention, learning and development, performance, discipline, change management, safety and well-being, and engagement of our most important asset - “our people”.The Workforce Division Unit comprises approximately 40 human resource practitioners who provide a high quality, client focused and value adding human resource service to management and staff throughout the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).About the role:Contribute to the effective development, management and delivery of professional Occupational Health, workplace safety and workplace rehabilitation and return to work services provided by the Workplace Safety and Wellbeing Unit and effectively and efficiently inform and support the relevant Senior Managers and staff on Occupational Health and workplace safety and workplace rehabilitation and return to work responses and strategies. The position implements, reviews and reports on Occupational Health and workplace safety and workplace rehabilitation and return to work policies, guidelines, procedures and networks consistent with Health Service policy.About you:
- Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, qualifications in workplace Health and Safety or injury management will be well regarded.
- This position will require the incumbent to function as the Rehabilitation Return to Work Coordinator. Prior to performing this function, the incumbent must demonstrate that they are appropriately qualified to do so, that is, having the qualifications, experience or standing to perform the function.
- Demonstrated skill in conducting audits, investigating accidents and dangerous events to identify risks and causative factors, and make recommendations to control risks in compliance with the legislation.
- Demonstrated ability to respond professional and impartially to the competing demands of clients, manager, health professionals and external agencies in a complex and changing organisational environment.
- Demonstrated high level skills in communication, consultation and negotiation, problem solving and with internal and external stakeholders including a demonstrated capacity to prepare high level written reports, correspondence and presentations.
- A hourly rate between $51.69 - $ 56.24 p.h.
