Due to increasing growth, we have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Occupational Hygienist who is keen to develop and drive the Maas Group Occupational Hygiene program while working with the support of an industry leading consultant.
Overview of the role:
Reporting directly to the Group Health and Safety Manager, the Occupational Hygienist is responsible for the identification, evaluation and control of workplace exposure hazards and improvement of health and hygiene management within the greater health and safety management system across the Maas Group of companies.
You will manage complex occupational hygiene projects, and successfully
deliver risk mitigation projects in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders including occupational health exposure management, health risk management and health promotion.
Internally develop increased governance and management of risks involving respirable crystalline silica, asbestos, noise, air monitoring, radiation, chemical exposure, and implement a health monitoring and surveillance program.
The Occupational Hygienist is a permanent, full-time position that can be located at one of our Regional or city-based offices in Dubbo, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne or Brisbane.
You must be available for regular intrastate and interstate travel as travel is essential part of fulfilling the responsibilities of this role.
About you:
- Have a degree or postgraduate degree (Honours or Masters) in disciplines
relevant to Occupational Hygiene. - Have one to two years of relevant work experience.
- Be a team player with the ability to influence peers.
- You will be a good communicator who is approachable with excellent people management skills.
- Demonstrate drive, ambition and passion for this industry.
- Sound knowledge of associated HSE legislation, regulations and standards Ability to effectively engage subject matter experts and understand technical topics.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Full working rights within Australia
- Valid Australian Drivers Licence and the ability to travel across NSW, QLD and Victoria.
