Alpha Abilities is seeking an experienced Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team and play a pivotal role in assisting our clients while contributing to the growth of our company. As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, which includes working with ASD clients in both community and clinical settings. Role Overview:

Alpha Abilities is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist with expertise in providing services to clients across various age groups who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This dynamic role requires you to work confidently across clinic, school, and home settings, delivering high-quality care and support to our clients.

Supported by an experienced team leader within our company, you will have the opportunity to work independently and confidently with clients, making a positive impact on their lives. The majority of our clients are based in the western suburbs, providing you with a diverse and rewarding caseload.

Responsibilities:

  • 3 days contact clinical and community-based services to our clients residing in Melbourne's western suburbs, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all. 
  • Provide high-quality Occupational Therapy services to individuals and their support networks, encompassing comprehensive assessment, ongoing treatment, and tailored individual programs.
  • Actively promote the role of Occupational Therapy within our center and the broader community, advocating for the importance of our services in enhancing the lives of individuals with ASD.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in producing detailed and informative reports for client coordinators and General Practitioners (GPs), ensuring clear communication and coordination of care.
  • Collaborate closely with other allied health professionals, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to client care and maximising therapeutic outcomes through effective teamwork and communication.

Requirements:

  • Full registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist, demonstrating compliance with professional standards and regulations.
  • Possession of a valid Victorian driver's license and access to a reliable motor vehicle, facilitating travel to client appointments and ensuring flexibility in service delivery.
  • Maintenance of professional indemnity insurance, providing protection and assurance for both the therapist and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, fostering a supportive and cohesive workplace culture.
  • Proficiency in utilizing assessment skills to inform and deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, tailored to meet the unique needs of individual clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate, ensuring preparedness to respond to emergency situations and safeguarding the well-being of clients.
  • Charismatic and engaging personality, capable of building rapport and establishing positive therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Possession of a valid Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC), demonstrating suitability to work with vulnerable populations and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
