About the Role:
As a new graduate or experienced Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for the provision of client and family centred, OT services for children and families.
You will be working with families using a bottom up, holistic and collaborative approach
You will co-design the support provided to children and their families which offers them choice and control in the way therapy and support is delivered
Be employed via subcontracting role or permanent employement- we will support maintaining a work life balance that helps you be the best therapist you can and can provide exceptionally generous reimbursement that leaves you feeling motivated and happy in your job.
Conduct assessments and deliver Occupational Therapy to children and their families.
Develop and manage treatment plans for a variety of children and developmental issues
Assessment and NDIS report writing
Enjoy liaising with parents, teachers and relevant stakeholders to achieve client goals
You will be working in home, preschool and school environments
Collaborate with other health professionals
Documentation and note taking
Implementing group feeding, cooking and social skill programs
Enjoy regular team building and social events
Desired skills and Experience
Essential:
- A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and certified AHPRA registration status.
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check
- Current, unrestricted drivers license
- Experience in assessment, diagnosis, therapy, case management and discharge planning of children (0 – 18 years) with developmental disorders.
- The ability to work collaboratively with schools and parents using a family centred and strengths-based approach to practice.
- Effective written and verbal communication and proficient computer skills.
- 4th year undergraduate students welcome to apply.
Desirable:
- Experience working with families of children with disabilities and knowledge of the NDIS principles and pathways
- Experience working with children/adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders, including Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ODD, ADHD.
- Knowledge of early life trauma and/or experience working from a trauma-informed approach or interest in this area
- Proven ability to work both collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary team with a family-centred and strengths-based approach
- Experience in delivering Occupational Therapy services via telehealth and face to face.
