Join our dynamic team as a Occupational Therapist - AHP2 in Mental Health Services and help us provide comprehensive care and support Veterans' mental health.
The Jamie Larcombe Centre is looking for a Occupational Therapist - AHP2 to join their Veterans' Mental Health Services team. Located within the Glenside Health Service Campus, the Unit provides treatment for a range of specialist mental health issues including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression for Veterans. The Centre offers 24 single rooms, a gymnasium, sensory garden, research spaces, and tele-psychiatry services.

Working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist - AHP2 undertakes complex Occupational Therapy and mental health specific service provision. Service provision aims to enhance the mental health and functional independence of consumers of the Veteran Mental Health Service.
Your role responsibilities will include:
- Develop personalised treatment plans,
- Provide trauma-informed care and interventions,
- Supervise and mentor Allied Health Assistants and support staff,
- Educating and enabling consumers to develop the necessary skills for successful community living in their environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia,
- Extensive experience in mental health occupational therapy, preferably with a focus on veterans or trauma-affected populations,
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
- Competent in the provision of a range of occupational therapy assessments, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and skills including individual and group work.
The Occupational Therapist may be required to work within both Ambulatory (co- located at The Jamie Larcombe Centre) and inpatient settings.
