In a supportive and collaborative environment, you will encounter interesting professional challenges and you will work alongside dedicated and passionate people who help to turn around the lives of offenders and rebuild lives affected by crime.DutiesThe Senior Occupational Therapist / Senior Psychologist provides key support, assessment, referral and discharge planning for prisoners requiring referral to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The Senior Occupational Therapist / Senior Psychologist is an experienced clinician who applies specialised clinical expertise to the delivery of the DCS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) program. The Senior Occupational Therapist / Senior Psychologist is responsible for providing specialist scientifically based clinical assessment and intervention recommendations for prisoners requiring referral to the NDIS.The incumbent will undertake report writing, briefings, research, literature reviews, and provide key advice on disability and mental health related matters. The incumbent will work as part of a dedicated DCS NDIS team and will participate and formulate complex clinical assessments in conjunction with the Principal Advisor, Offender Services and demonstrate a strong knowledge of evidence based disability and mental health clinical and psychosocial interventions.Special Conditions
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the Act and other applicable industrial entitlements;
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
- A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
- A flexible approach to working hours is required;
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
- Appropriate degree or equivalent which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OTBA); OR
- An undergraduate or post-graduate level qualification in psychology and full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- Master's Degree in Psychology; Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology; and approved by the Psychology Board of Australia to supervise provisional psychologists.
