About the role
The Inpatient Rehabilitation Service (IRS), located at Glenside Health Services, provides rehabilitation and recovery-orientated treatment services, therapy and educative programs relating to complex and often treatment resistive mental health problems.
The Senior Occupational Therapist (AHP3) is an experienced clinician who applies specialised expertise to the development, delivery and continuous improvement of quality clinical work and provides discipline specific assessments, interventions and consultancy service within the IRS team. The Senior Occupational Therapist works collaboratively with consumers, their families/carers to assist recovery through programs focusing on the regaining or development of skills in self-management, occupational functioning and social relationships. The Senior Occupational Therapists collaborates closely with a network of government and non-government organisations to reduce barriers to discharge and develop and implement clinical plans to maximise positive outcomes for consumers.
The Senior Occupational Therapist is actively involved in clinical leadership responsibilities within the Team and the disciplinary group and provides professional supervision to designated staff and students. This unique and exciting role provides opportunities to work with a diverse multi-disciplinary team inclusive of medical, nursing, psychology, social work, exercise physiology, art and music therapy and lived-experience staff.
Qualifications
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
