Our Journey:
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist Grade 3 to join our Paediatric team to cover an 11 month maternity leave position starting in late May 2024.
Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Australia’s leading providers of integrated children’s health services, with more than 30 specialist services and programs. We have Victoria’s largest Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and provide leading paediatric services in many areas including Rehabilitation, Oncology, Orthopaedics, Developmental Medicine, Pain and Rheumatology.
Occupational Therapy at Monash Children’s Hospital sits within the Monash Children’s Allied Health team and provides integrated services to paediatric inpatients and outpatients from newborns to adolescents.
A Day in the Life:
As a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist within Monash Children’s you will:
- Manage a clinical, acute hospital paediatric caseload in a relevant inpatient/outpatient area
- Supervise grade 2 Occupational Therapy and AHA employees
- Hold advanced clinical knowledge in the field of Paediatric Occupational Therapy and provide leadership, teaching and training to Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants
- Collaborate with colleagues across the service to foster clinical excellence and consistency of practice
- Support the Occupational Therapy team to provide best practice patient care, high level quality improvement initiatives, participation in research and clinical teaching activities
- Be based at Monash Children’s Hospital, however travel to any of the Monash Health sites may be required

What you Need:
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapist or Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) or equivalent
- Current general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) – Occupational Therapy, with no restrictions.
- Preferred at least 7 years’ experience as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist
- Experience in teaching, training and education
- Demonstrated clinical skills in paediatric discharge planning +/- other specialty areas
- Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong team focus and an innovative approach
