The Bethanie Therapy team currently have a great opportunity for a qualified Occupational Therapist to work in partnership with residents at our aged care home in Gwelup. This role is currently being offered on a Permanent Part Time basis, working 32 hours per week across a 9-day fortnight.
The Bethanie Therapy team consists of over 40 Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. New grads are always part of our team, and we would love to hear from you! This is your chance to gain some exposure to the rewarding sector of aged care.
About the role:
You will provide customer centred assessments, interventions and programs and work in a broad multidisciplinary team. Our focus is to improve the quality of life of Bethanie’s residents. Duties will include:
- Complete therapy assessments and respond to clinical referrals
- Plan and implement individual or group therapeutic activities, whilst working with the interdisciplinary team to maintain an effective referral system and co-ordinate therapy implementation within a Residential Aged Care environment
- Direct and co-ordinate therapy implementation by Therapy assistants and support staff
- Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and information systems
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary program of continuous improvement
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Values and Signature Behaviours of Bethanie
- Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Knowledge and skills assessment and treatment techniques and ability to plan, implement and evaluate pain management programs
- Good computer skills, with confidence to use Microsoft Office packages and clinical information systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both verbal and written form
- Commitment to person centred care
- Demonstrated workload and time management skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting
