About the Role:
Tamworth Hospital are excited to offer a New Graduate Occupational Therapy Position within the Occupational Therapy team. You would be based at Tamworth Hospital, with a diverse and exciting caseload. As a New Graduate you would be supported within a rotating position and have the opportunity to upskill across different clinical areas. Across a 2-year New Graduate program, you would complete 4-month rotations, working across three acute hospital clinical areas including surgical units (including orthopaedic); medical units (including an acute stroke unit) and the rehabilitation unit. Being a New Graduate position, this role is very well supported. You would have regular supervision and mentorship from a senior therapist. On a day-to-day basis you would be assessing the safety of patients, and implement strategies to ensure a timely and safe discharge from the facility. You would be completing equipment prescription, home modifications, functional retraining and supportive service recommendations. The development of skills and knowledge through supervision and encouragement of continuing education is entrenched into the culture of the department. The Occupational Therapy department is located at Tamworth Hospital – a large regional hospital located in the picturesque northwest of NSW. Tamworth region is known not only for its country music festival but also large variety of leisure and culture facilities to suit everyone’s needs and interests.

- Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
