Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the functional abilities, limitations, and needs of individuals with disabilities.

• Collaborate with clients, families, and support teams to set realistic and client-centered goals.

• Provide direct occupational therapy interventions to enhance activities of daily living (ADLs) and improve fine and gross motor skills.

• Recommend and assist in the procurement of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.

• Address sensory processing issues and provide interventions to improve sensory integration.

• Implement cognitive rehabilitation strategies and exercises to improve cognitive functioning.

• Educate and train clients, families, and support networks on strategies to manage disabilities and promote independence.

• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and support staff to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to client care.

• Maintain accurate records of assessments, intervention plans, and progress notes.

• Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring access to appropriate services and support.

• Stay informed about current research and engage in ongoing professional development.

Your Profile of Excellence

• Field Experience: experience within the disability space, knowledge of the NDIS framework and relevant legislation.

• Distinguished Tertiary Qualifications: Degree in Occupational Therapy.

• SPA Membership: valid APRAH resgitration.

• Evidence-Based Innovator: Demonstrate ability in seamlessly integrating evidence-based frameworks, and developing comprehensive support systems that encompass the whole individual.

• Focus on Personalisation: Embrace a person-centred approach, delivering services tailored to each individual's unique needs.

• Required Qualifications: Possession of an Australian driver’s license, a Working with Children Card, a First Aid Certificate, and an NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willingness to obtain these before employment).
