Our Cowal Gold Operation is an open-cut, underground and ore processing operation, located 40km Northeast of West Wyalong in NSW.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor, the purpose of this role is to contribute to the Cowal Gold Mine Environmental Monitoring Programme, and support the Sustainability Department in achieving annual objectives.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking field activities: Surface water sampling, field monitoring, groundwater sampling, depositional dust monitoring, hi-volume dust monitoring, potable water monitoring and photographic monitoring.
- Coordinating transportation of monitoring samples to accredited laboratory following standards.
- Entering data into environmental data management system.
- Contributing to the preparation and reviews of site procedures and safe work instructions.
- Coordinating maintenance activities for environmental assets (tracks, vehicles, bores, laboratory).
- Supporting Sustainability Department with directed field activities, such as surveys, inspections, training.
- Providing site emergency response for injured fauna, spills, or other environmental incidents.
- Managing procurement activities associated with the role
- Demonstrating behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining values.

About you
The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience completing field monitoring for environmental programs in a remote setting. An NSW Boat License (or willingness to obtain) is required, as well as a current NSW Drivers Licence. Demonstrated experience in field monitoring for environmental programs is essential. Key competencies include computer literacy, attention to detail, and a strong aptitude for learning. You will have strong time management, can work unsupervised for extended periods following remote worker procedures. Small boat handling skills, safe 4x4 driving experience, off-road and trailer towing capabilities will be looked upon favourably. Proficiency in environmental data management tools will also be beneficial.
