Form of workWe are seeking a skilled Offset Printer to join our team. This role involves operating and maintaining various printing machines, ensuring high-quality printing standards, and working collaboratively to meet production deadlines.
The Role
This role includes assisting our printers as well as working autonomously on both our 5-colour Heidelberg and 8 colour Heidelberg SM74 presses. This includes handling of paper, ink, chemicals and general maintenance of the machine.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate the offset printing press to produce high-quality printed materials.
- Monitor the printing process, making necessary adjustments to ensure consistent print quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on the printing press.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and meet project deadlines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Contribute to any other areas of production that management see fit
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Offset Printer, preferably within the packaging or printing industry.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining offset printing presses.
- Strong understanding of printing techniques, colour management, and quality control.
- Ability to interpret job orders, work independently, and make decisions to achieve desired print results and deadlines.
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve printing issues.
- Trade qualification/offset printing or lithographic experience is essential.
