The Role:
As our OHS Advisor/Coordinator, you will be the backbone of our health and safety framework, ensuring that our operations not only comply with but lead in safety standards and practices. Reporting directly to our Safety and Training Manager, your role will be multifaceted - from steering OHS compliance across our projects to spearheading safety initiatives that resonate with our #TeamLifting ethos. This role demands a vigilant, proactive, and dedicated individual who seamlessly integrates with both our on-site and back-office teams to foster an environment where safety is the norm.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OHS legislation, regulations (COR, OHS Act/Regs), and ISO standards.
- Coordinate OHS compliance activities for Tier 1 construction sites.
- Incident management, including effective reporting and follow-up.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of internal safety systems.
- Assist in the development and dissemination of OHS policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the Safety and Training Manager to implement safety initiatives.
About You
- Qualification in Workplace Health and Safety (Cert 4 preferred).
- 4+ years of experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse team.
- Strong organisational skills and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- A passion for safety and a commitment to promoting a positive safety culture.
