Oil & Gas Well Cementer/Trainee Cementer

WellPro Services is an innovative, privately owned Australian company servicing the energy, resource and mining sectors. Due to a number of new projects, we are seeking applications from trained Cementers and those wishing to enter this industry as Trainee Cementers. 
Based in Roma QLD and working a 2&2 roster, the primary focus of these roles is to support the Operations crew in the operation and maintenance of cement equipment, while gaining technical expertise to advance existing skills and knowledge. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will suit mechanical fitters, welders, farm hands or graduates in mechanical engineering and those wishing to consolidate learning and work in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the Rig Up and Rig Down of equipment on site in a safe manner
• Participate in the set up of equipment in accordance with HSE and Emergency Plan requirements
• Assist with cementing service line work at the well site
• Assist with clean up, repair, and preparation of equipment for subsequent jobs
• Assist coil staff with loading and unloading of coil, assist with clean-up of cement sites and assisting with the blending of cement
• Drive and/or operate heavy vehicles and machinery including cement pumping unit
• Participate in continuous improvement of production activities that enhance safety and efficiencies for both internal and external stakeholders
• Commitment to health, safety and environment procedures and regulations.

Skills and Experience 

• The ability to learn quickly, follow instructions and show general aptitude is highly regarded
• A mechanical background or aptitude is an advantage
• Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in cementing or an equivalent field
• Knowledge or the ability to learn rig, coiled tubing, or down hole cementing in the Coal Seam Gas Industry
• Possess or able to quickly acquire the necessary working skills within service line, and a general working knowledge of other service functions
• Manual C class licence required as a minimum, however MC/HR licence preferred
• DCGI Induction/ISI
• Specific licences are required: Wellsite Permit to Work Authority,Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, Breathing Apparatus, Gas Detection
• Sound interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
• Experience in Microsoft Office suite and Outlook.
