We have a fantastic opportunity for experienced Consultants in Environmental or Oil Spill Response Management to join our Spill Preparedness Team. This role will be located in Perth, Australia.
Job Description
The individual will report to our Consultancy and Training Services Leads and Australia Country Manager and is expected to have extensive experience in leading technical projects to meet Oil Spill preparedness requirements for clients.
It is further expected that you are proficient in performing the above in a variety of related duties, including but not limited to:
- Coordinating and overseeing site data collection and analysis in delivering hydrocarbon capability reviews (strategies, tactics and operations) and environmental sensitivity assessments across managed territories.
- Facilitating response processes reviews, polices and regulations that conserve and protect wildlife as well as establish management goals and objectives.
- Documenting review and completion of risk assessments applying for operating license, including producing visit reports contributing to synthetic OSCP and full OSCP, and reviewing OSRL internal OSCP template and assisting to improve and streamline.
- Leading contingency and tactical response planning to incorporate conservation and management of pollution control and rehabilitation for capability review. Requires conducting and reviewing environmental sensitivity assessments.
- Working with clients to achieve ALARP capability that it is in line with pre-operational SIMA assessments, and developing related preparedness training (response procedures, equipment management and strategies) that comply with regulatory, policy, and legal entities.
- Providing technical expertise on OSR strategies using SIMA/NEBA documentation to formulate and justify the response strategy.
- Develop and lead the delivery of Oil Spill technical training services (response strategies, incident management, field operations) that comply with regulatory requirements.
- Incident response planning and management of field operational activities in accordance with the Service Level Agreement to ensure response plans and arrangements integrate with national and international arrangements for Oil Spill events, including the provision of environmental information of significance for management planning.
- Constantly benchmark OSRL’s consultancy and training services against other providers and industry expectations in Australia and globally, supporting the implementation of new requirements to ensure OSRL remain at the leading edge.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science with at least 8 of direct work experience in environmental projects for Oil & Gas industry. A Master’s degree in Science will be beneficial.
- Operational knowledge and experience using the ICS framework is critical.
- Operational and project management experience in IMS300 courses, environmental impact assessments, Oil Spill contingency planning, capability audits, risk assessments, Oil Spill modelling and spill response training.
- Understanding of oil and gas industry activities such as seismic, drilling and de-commissioning activities.
- Highly developed training and consulting skills with a track record in facilitating Oil Spill tabletop exercises and training courses.
