Why Work With Us?

People and businesses rely on our roads to get to work, home and around Western Australia.

As the WA State Government Agency responsible for safely managing the State's road network, Main Roads Western Australia is committed to connecting people and places by delivering integrated and intelligent transport systems and services, providing safer roads and better journeys for our customers.

With a rich history dating back to 1926 and an exciting future ahead, Main Roads is not just about roads. It's also about people. Our services are delivered through the dedicated efforts of our talented, passionate, and dynamic employees, who are located in regional and metropolitan offices throughout the State.

About the Role

Main Roads Western Australia is growing rapidly due to technological advancements and population increases, and their impact on the transport landscape. This growth is creating new challenges and opportunities within the organisation, especially in the area of Incident Response.

We have an exciting opportunity available to join our Incident Response Services team, based at 98 Radium Street, Welshpool. In this role, no two days will be the same as you will be supervising our on-Road Incident Response Crews on our metropolitan road network. You will be responsible for coordinating the activities of all Incident Response Crews patrols to deliver effective reduction and mitigation of hazards that impede traffic flow on the network.

To be successful in this role you will possess considerable skill and experience in prioritising and providing Incident Response services.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual who has the ability to build strong collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You will demonstrate effective management and practices for Incident Response services and have the ability to perform timely incident scale assessments and determine resources required including various services, equipment and materials.

The successful applicant of this role must be prepared to work outside of normal hours, when required, during emergencies, with appropriate allowances paid. Additionally, the successful applicant is required to provide a "command and control" function for handling response/recovery and act as the first point of contact for on-Road Incident enquiries.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career and lead a supportive team that provides a critical service to community. Our environment encourages people to improve business practices and actively contribute to the strategic direction of Main Roads. If you possess the skills and this position interests you, we encourage you to apply.

What We Offer

At Main Roads, you can have a challenging, flexible, and rewarding career that takes you exactly where you want to go with an organisation that supports a healthy work-life balance to help with what is important to you.

In addition to our competitive salary and 11% superannuation, some of the benefits to working with Main Roads include:

  • Attractive leave provisions
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Health and wellbeing focus.
