The Role:
As a permanent Clinical or Registered Nurse within the Newcastle Chemo in the home team, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to individuals requiring chemotherapy and immunotheraoy infusions in their home.
Responsibilities will encompass skills of an experienced Oncology and Hematology Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years experience, with previous experience in a community setting advantageous.
You will be allocated a health service vehicle or authorised to use your own vehicle according to your working hours to deliver infusions in clients homes and will see and treat up to 6 clients per day.
The hours of this role are Monday - Friday, 8-4pm with the flexibility for weekend hours.
This dynamic oncology role will involve collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, assessment and planning of patient care, medication administration (chemotherapy and immunotherapy), and maintaining accurate documentation.

Criteria:
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority.
- Current Australian "C class" Driver's License.
- National Police Clearance certificate.
- Minimum requirement of 2 years' experience in Oncology or Haematology and experienced with chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration.
- An understanding of the issues facing people receiving ongoing treatment for cancer and other chronic health conditions.
- Experienced in IV cannulation and Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) Management.
- Well organised, with the capacity to adapt to new opportunities and challenges.
- Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in the community, as well as within a multidisciplinary team setting.
- High level of computer literacy and IT skills.
- Experience in working in a domiciliary setting, or in a role requiring autonomous decision making; and
- Flexible and adaptive to meet changing needs of clients, service delivery and company requirements.
