The Position
We have exciting opportunities for Registered Nurses with strong clinical skills to join our Day Oncology unit to provide specialist care to our oncology, haematology and palliative patients.
Working in this specialised area the applicant will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of clinical standards and will be directly responsible for:
- Integrating your technical skills, scientific knowledge and caring attitude to aid those living with cancer, including their families, starting from point of diagnosis, treatment, survivor-ship and through to end of life care
- Applying your clinical expertise and knowledge of chemotherapy and targeted therapy administration and central venous line management, including medical same day infusions
- Identifying when a more detailed assessment and/or intervention is required and seek the input of clinical peers, the General Practitioner and other relevant health professionals
- Compliance with, and application of, current policies and procedures as well as an understanding of their implications for nursing practice and patient outcomes
- Building relationships with patients and their families while going above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care and clinical outcomes

Key Selection Criteria
- Evidence of tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Post Graduate Qualifications in Oncology/Haematology Nursing or willingness to work towards
- Proficiency in CVAD management and IV cannulation skills, as well as the ability to successfully complete eviQ competencies
- Demonstrated ability to assess and educate patients pre, during and post chemotherapy, including an in-depth knowledge of the expected side effects of cancer treatments
- High level computer literacy and working knowledge of; RosterOn, TrendCare, Riskman Microsoft Office

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements
