Job description

About Hello Sunday Morning

Hello Sunday Morning’s ambitious mission is to change the world’s relationship with alcohol. One Sunday at a time.

We began in 2009 when Founder, Chris Raine, documented his year long experiment to take a break from drinking in a blog. The organisation has since grown into Australia’s largest alcohol-focused digital health service.

Our flagship technology platform, the Daybreak app, provides free anonymous 24/7 peer support for people to change their relationship with alcohol, whether that is taking a break, cutting back or quitting. Daybreak has had close to 130,000 registrations and is supplemented by a range of other services and tools to support self-directed change.

About the role

The Online Community Moderator is an important part of Hello Sunday Morning’s clinical and practice governance and is responsible for ensuring our Daybreak community provides safe and effective support to people wanting to change their relationship with alcohol.

Reporting to the Digital Health Services Manager you will monitor the safety of the Online Community, work directly with members to provide them with support and resources, and assist them to identify barriers to accessing additional supports.

No matter where our members are on their change journey, you will assist in identifying individual needs, developing personalised action plans, and providing general basic ongoing assistance as needed to help them find the support that they need, including referral to Hello Sunday Morning’s digital health services and external services.

This role works within a multidisciplinary diverse team of health and technology staff.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for a range of support activities within our Daybreak Community including:

• Monitoring discussions in the community for clinical and organisational risk, such as breach of community guidelines and member-generated incident reports

• Undertaking individual brief assessment, identifying specific support needs and developing personalised action plans for members

• Assisting members to find the support that they need

• Making effective referrals to other health professionals or agencies

• Maintaining the service referral database

Qualifications and experience

• Qualifications in or working towards a qualification in a health-related area. An undergraduate degree in psychology, nursing, social work or similar and/or a qualification in alcohol or other drugs or mental health would be highly regarded.

• Experience in a similar role, such as Support Worker, case worker, peer navigator, care navigator or linkage worker

• A good knowledge of range of health services available, in particular alcohol and other drug services

• Experience in conducting brief assessments for people seeking support for alcohol related issues

• A good understanding of, the range of effective responses to alcohol related problems

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships

• Experience with digital health or other remote service delivery would be highly regarded

HSM Benefit’s Program

• HSM has a dynamic Benefit’s Program incorporating workplace flexibility, personal growth and development, financial opportunities and wellbeing support.

• We proactively foster career development and invest in professional development to build on your existing skills. This role comes with your individual professional development budget to attend training and courses.

• We have a vibrant and flexible workplace culture with emphasis on purpose, values and team collaboration.

• We have a hybrid work model, working mostly remotely, with fortnightly in person team days with flexible working hours to suit your life.

• We actively invest in health and wellbeing initiatives including access to our EAP.

• We provide Your Day Off! Regular days off for your wellbeing in addition to your annual leave

• We have paid parental leave to support all types of working families.

To apply please send your CV with a Cover Letter or Intro email to our People & Culture Team at *******@hellosundaymorning.org
