We have an exciting opportunity for a Roaming Onsite School Service Assistant based in the Northern & Western suburbs of Melbourne, Your role will be to cover leave taken by the permanent maintenance staff based at one of seven primary schools, you will oversee & manage all onsite facilities management operations and be the onsite point of contact for school operators, school employees, contractors and other school users.Job Description
About the Role
You will deliver and supervise all facilities maintenance duties at the school, ensuring the provision of a safe work environment for the staff and students, following practices and procedures from Cushman & Wakefield. This role will provide for all planned and reactive building, grounds and gardens maintenance in accordance with the contract requirements and standards.
What You Will Do
Perform general grounds and gardens maintenance duties including general gardening duties including sweeping/blowing debris from pathways and synthetic turf etc.
Complete broad maintenance tasks as required (handyman duties) e.g., adjusting doors, changing light globes, emptying recycled paper bins around the school to the skip etc.
Collect mail for the school from local Post Office
Monitor and complete daily and ad-hoc facility maintenance requests from database and arrange for contractor attendance when required.
Provide site activity reports each week and close out work orders raised within KPI.
Responsible for on site management and coordination of contractors including basic reporting e.g., Flash Reports, Vandalism Forms and Task Sheets/Inspection Sheets.
Ensure all visitors and contractors sign in via the Cushman & Wakefield QR system.
Ensure all attending contractors have completed the contract induction when signing into the onsite sign in register.

Deliver and supervise the facilities management operations, including the planned and reactive maintenance for buildings, grounds and gardens including supporting the help desk function.
About you
You would have an interest in a mixture of outdoor grounds work and indoor handyman work.
Demonstrated experience working at critical sites/grounds.
A common-sense approach and initiative
Standard experience with Word, Excel and Outlook
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to think in an autonomous fashion when needed.
Self-motivated to enhance the school and business with a great attention to detail.
Quality and continuous improvement focus.
Victorian Driver’s license and technical qualifications in either mechanical or electrical fields.
Working with Children’s Check and Police check – Mandatory
As this is a Trade based role a medical check will be mandatory for the successful applicant
