POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking qualified OOSH Educators / Responsible Person to join our services across the Newcastle, Maitland and Hunter regions.

These opportunities will be available on a permanent part-time basis working across our before and after school programs and vacation care programs for children aged 5 – 12 years old.

As an OOSH Educator / Responsible Person, you are expected to be an active member of a team which provides high quality childhood education and care to children. This includes:

  • Developing strong relationships with children at St Nicholas
  • Developing strong relationships that support and partner with families
  • Implementing the policies and associated procedures of St Nicholas at all times
  • Working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of St Nicholas

EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA

  • A fun, professional, positive and reliable demeanour
  • The ability to collaborate as an active member of the St Nicholas OOSH Team
  • Be able to communicate effectively with children, families and your Team

       A demonstrated understanding of:

  1. The National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place, and the Laws and Regulations governing our industry
  2. Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting
  3. Workplace Health and Safety issues and practices

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working with Children Check verification number
  • A Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services or Certificate IV in Out of Hours School Care 
  • Current First Aid Certificate, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training (Desirable)
  • Child protection qualification (Desirable)
