RSPCA Victoria is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Op Shop Volunteer Coordinator to join our team on a flexible schedule of 2-3 days per week, depending on the suitability of the candidate.
In this critical role, you'll be the driving force behind our volunteer recruitment strategy, ensuring our Op Shops across Victoria are staffed with dedicated and compassionate individuals. You'll play a vital role in attracting new volunteers, keeping our current volunteers engaged, and ultimately, helping us raise crucial funds for animal welfare.

Here's what you'll do
- Develop & Implement Recruitment & Retention Strategies: Partner with the Op Shop Network team to create innovative approaches to attract and retain volunteers in a competitive market.
- Build Partnerships: Foster strong relationships with Workforce Australia, Work for the Dole, and Disability Support Service providers to expand our volunteer pool.
- Measure & Adapt: Analyse recruitment campaigns and implement creative solutions to attract new volunteers.
- Lead Recruitment Process: Coordinate all aspects of Op Shop Volunteer recruitment across Victoria, from advertising, shortlisting, arranging interviews and facilitating pre-volunteering checks.
- Volunteer Management Systems: Maintain volunteer recruitment systems, ensuring efficient communication and record-keeping.
- Volunteer Advocate: Be an enthusiastic advocate for RSPCA Victoria volunteer opportunities, potentially speaking publicly about the program.
- Diversity Champion: Promote equal opportunity and inclusivity in all aspects of volunteer recruitment.
We're looking for someone with
- Previous experience in a similar employee or volunteer recruitment role that requires strong administration, organisational and problem solving skills.
- High level literacy, numeracy and problem-solving skills, including intermediate computer skills (including use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- An ability to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience working in a volunteer and/or community sector organisation is desirable.
Recruitment Requirements
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- Willing to obtain an Employee Working with Children’s Check
- Valid and current driver’s license and willingness to travel across Victoria – including Bayswater; Burwood East; Ferntree Gully; Mildura; Mornington & Traralgon.
