The Role
As the Volunteer Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing volunteer programs at Phillip Island Nature Parks. This includes developing and promoting volunteer programs, implement business plan objectives for volunteering, managing volunteer engagement and communications to ensure a positive and rewarding volunteer experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively implement volunteer program activities that contribute to and enhance Nature Parks conservation, research and tourism outcomes.
- Undertake volunteer management activities for recruitment and performance, administration, communication and engagement, reward and recognition, and resource and equipment management.
- Manage the Better Impact volunteer management database, website and mailbox to provide a positive and enjoyable volunteer experience.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) to support development and delivery of volunteer programs.
- Implement business plan and budget for volunteer programs including evaluation and reporting.

Key Selection Criteria
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive and impactful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Competent computer skills and experience in using Better Impact and/or an equivalent volunteer management database.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume workload, multiple tasks and competing priorities within a large and diverse organisation.
- Demonstrated experience (minimum of 2 years) in management of volunteer programs.
