Make a difference in the lives of sick children and join our vibrant organisation! As our Family Room Program Coordinator - JKWC Hospital, you are responsible for the quality delivery of our Family Room Program at Joan Kirner Women's & Children's Hospital. This role involves high engagement with volunteers, a strong governance/compliance angle and responsibility for the 5-star service standard delivery of the Family Room Program.

In line with its mission, Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania (RMHC VIC & TAS) has dedicated more than 35 years to keeping families closer to their child with a serious illness who require treatment and support across Victoria and Tasmania.

What we're looking for:

As the Family Room Program Coordinator, you will be the face of our Joan Kirner Women's & Children's Family Room Program. You will be responsible for the delivery of the core program, in respect to the RMHC Quality Standards, and pivotal for championing the best-practice people lifecycles with the Family Room Program volunteers. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Talent acquisition and end-to-end recruitment of our Family Room volunteers
  • Overseeing the compliance and governance of the Family Room volunteer team within the RMHC and Hospital parameters
  • Leading and managing the volunteers to provide high levels of assistance to families using the Family Rooms
  • Delivery RMHC branded Quality Standards and Operational KPIs in relation of the Family Room Program
  • Supporting delivery of the volunteer engagement, training & development, recognition frameworks

We want you to champion our best-practice people frameworks with the Family Room volunteer team and to drive our high-level operational standards. 

Ideally you'll have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Project Management or related discipline; or comparable work experience, skills and competencies
  • Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector 
  • Experience with community services including direct exposure to working with volunteers 
  • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Exemplary time management and prioritisation skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral & written communication skills, including strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Information, Communications & Technology (ICT), including maintaining accurate and timely records
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team
