Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a town known as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and Great Barrier Reef. Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long life and is transitioning from a dragline strip to a truck and shovel terrace operation.

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, the Open Cut Examiner is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of productivity targets as well as maintaining a safe workplace, and providing leadership and direction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute of your statutory role and responsibilities ensuring safe mine operates.
• Accountable for the implementation and monitoring of mining equipment and operations personnel.
• Fostering an inclusive and positive culture.
• Coordinate mining activities to optimise production.
• Provide technical guidance in complex mining areas.
• Provide leadership and direction to a team of mining operators
• Maintain a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values.

About you:

• Hold a current OCE ticket.
• Experience in a complex mining situation such as steep dipping seems and underground workings.
• Proven leadership capabilities and ability to lead a diverse team.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to build and foster strong working relationships with your team and across all departments.
