ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for advice, planning and methodology to optimise OPEN PIT, waste dump, and mine infrastructure development. You will provide geotechnical support to ensure the mine development and production activities and all active mine areas remain at an acceptable level of risk from geotechnical hazards to enable the business to meet its long- and short-term targets in terms of production and cost.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Conduct regular geotechnical inspections and adhere to Ground Control Management Plans.
- Monitor stability of OPEN PIT and underground accesses.
- Provide geotechnical information and collaborate with mining and geology teams for optimal ore extraction.
- Update operators and staff with ground awareness training.
- Assess and manage pit designs, collect structural data, and oversee consultant work for new developments.
- Perform geotechnical assessments, data analysis, and recommend necessary changes.
ABOUT YOU
- At least 12 months of Geotechnical Engineer experience (Essential).
- Tertiary Degree and subsequent qualifications relevant to Geotechnical Engineering (Essential).
- Current, unrestricted Western Australian Class “C” Driver’s Licence (Essential).
- Previous experience in an Open-Pit/Cut mining environment (Desirable).
- Experience with geotechnical software, DIPS, UNWEDGE, Map3D, Surpac, and Rockfall Simulation software (Desirable)
