Geotechnical Engineer, we are seeking the talents of a dynamic and skilled
Geotechnical Engineer to join our team and help deliver projects from conception through to execution. This role will be supporting our Senior
Geotechnical Engineers and working closely with our Structural and Assurance teams.To be successful in this position you must have experience with mining operations, geotechnical data collection, rockmass and structural characterization, and slope stability analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Provide geotechnical support to mining operations in the form of geotechnical data collection program planning, execution, and slope stability design review.
- Provide technical advice and consultation with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Geotechnical modelling and reporting related to open pits and waste rock dumps.
- Definition of slope monitoring requirements and implementation
- Identifying and communicating geotechnical risk
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with other business units and external parties, contribute to knowledge building and awareness, support development of geotechnical systems.
- Site travel to support geotechnical design and reconciliation work across our sites.
Qualifications and Experience- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering geology, or similar is required.
- Experience in open pit slope stability modelling, analysis and operational management.
- Knowledge of geotechnical data collection, laboratory testing and mine planning processes is essential.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills, with demonstrated experience of communicating to a variety of stakeholders.
- Competent use of Vulcan and Rocscience suite of software.
- Strong data management and manipulation skills.
- Strong team skills.
