About your opportunity
The Operating Theatre Assistant will assist nursing, medical and surgical staff within the 14 Operating theatre complex and outlie areas to ensure a safe and efficient work area.
Skills and experience:
Demonstrated ability to perform the roles of an Operating Theatre Assistant.
Previous Manual Handling Experience in a Health Care setting.
Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to priorities work commitments and work autonomously in a rapidly changing work environment.
Excellent consultative, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Role Requirements
The appointee to this position will be required to carry out frequent and repetitive lifting, manual handling of goods and patients. Appropriate manual handling training will be provided.
Highly Desirable: Although not mandatory, qualifications relevant to the position would be well regarded.
Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
