 The ONM - Surgery leads and manages nursing services in a unit or facility, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient resource use.

Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.  What you'll be doing
The Operational Nurse Manager (ONM) - Surgery participates in or is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing services in a management unit, service, complex function or facility to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

 Essential Requirements:

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Relevant post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD. 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  2. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the service/facility are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team and to represent the nursing service inside and outside the organisation.
  4. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
  5. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking to set goals, formulate strategic plans and policies to achieve identified outcomes for the service and organisation
  6. Demonstrated understanding and participation in the implementation of organisational change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
