A fantastic chance is available for a passionate and driven Registered Nurse to assume a significant leadership position as the Nurse Unit Manager of Day Surgery Services at a private hospital in Sydney. It is a permanent full-time position.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
- Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management;
- Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
- Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family-centered care in a team-focused environment;
- Providing guidance, mentoring, and support to your team;
- Ensuring compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Current Registration with AHPRA;
- At least 5 years of experience;
- Demonstrated management experience;
- Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams with a service excellence approach;
- Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management;
- Demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communication skills, including advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
- A high degree of computer literacy, including MS Office and various databases;
- Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
- Tertiary post-graduate qualifications in a relevant Nursing specialty (desirable);
- A demonstrated understanding of Work, Health, and Safety legislation (desirable);
- A demonstrated understanding and implementation of quality improvement, change management, models of care, evidence-based practice and practise development (desirable);

REMUNERATION
$62.46 to $67.18 per hour.

Situated in Southern Sydney, the hospital boasts 168 overnight beds. It is renowned for its expertise in cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, spinal surgery, endovascular surgery, interventional neuroradiology, general surgery, general medicine, liver surgery, orthopedics, maternity, and pediatrics. The facility additionally features a dedicated Day Surgery unit, a Coronary Care Unit, and an Intensive Care Unit.
