About Your Role
An Operations Analyst within FIIG’s Cash Settlements team will perform critical back-office functions ensuring the smoothest experience possible for FIIG’s clients and will work with the custody team to ensure accurate and timely processing of coupons and trades for client purchases and sales.
The Operations Analyst will become a subject matter expert on the processing of Treasury cash movements within FIIG’s bank accounts as well as reconciliations of cash, trades, FX, client receivables and payables. Always operating in an ethical and responsible manner while being a key contact between FIIG’s front and back offices is a cornerstone of the position.
Some of your responsibilities will be;
- Accurate and timely processing of coupons and counterparty trades for clients and Global Custody
- Process cash movements within FIIG’s bank accounts
- Requesting FX execution of AUD and foreign currencies
- Reconciliations of cash, trades, FX, client receivables and payables
- Facilitating funding requests for FIIG’s balance sheet requirements
- Managing the funding schedule for DCM settlements
- Manage journal entries into the company’s systems
- End of day reporting to management ensuring any issues are escalated
- Ensure activities are signed off by managers and work to strict GS007 audit requirements and support auditors
- Key contact between front and back office to ensure queries and issues are resolved
- Contribute ideas to improving processes and efficiencies
- Month end reporting to finance
- Assist with the development and maintenance of written procedures documents
- Cross train in other functions within the Custody team
About You
- 1-2 years experience within financial services (not essential)
- Tertiary qualifications at or near completion
- Intermediate to Advanced computer literacy in MS Office with a focus on Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate initiative, problem solving skills and have strong attention to detail
- Ability to provide exceptional service to internal clients and our Custodian
- Able to engage with internal stakeholders at all levels to resolve issues
- Keen learner who consolidates their learning without jumping to the next thing too early
- High level of personal accountability for results and delivery, able to meet deadlines effectively and efficiently
- High level of professional integrity and maintains confidentiality
- Experience with Fixed Income securities is very advantageous but not essential
