About the role
Reporting through to the Head of Operations the Operations Centre Manager is responsible for the coordination and efficient running of the Operation Centre team, while maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Operations Centre Manager is key to maintaining operational schedules, ad hoc flying programs, the allocation of aircraft and crew resources whilst upholding high standards for compliance and company policies.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Hold safety as a core value and contribute to the achievement of a zero harm and an incident/injury free environment through active participation in all safety programs relevant to the position
- Planning, organising, and overall leadership of the day-to-day actions of the Operations Centre team
- Manage clients and contractor relationships, along with being the key point of contact for operational escalation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including flight operations, resource planning, maintenance, ground operations and finance, to ensure a seamless and coordinated approach to operations
- Monitoring operations across the network and identifying threats to on time performance or safety and proactively resolving pending and upcoming issues
- Participating and demonstrating leadership in the promotion and mentoring of the team and encouraging a positive and supportive culture
- Assists the Head of Operations in establishing current and long-range operational and business unit goals, objectives, scheduling, plans and policies
- Contribute towards the achievement of company strategic and operational objectives
- Ensures compliance under the relevant state and federal legislation of all Operations Centre activities conducted by National Jet Express e.g. FRMS & EBA compliance protocols
- Administrative, financial and corporate governance requirements established by Head of Operations
- Oversight of all projects carried out by the department, with overall responsibility
- In conjunction with the Group Safety, investigates promptly any safety related issue and implements, or where appropriate recommends the implementation, of any corrective action or procedures
- Key accountable manager for Operations Centre Manual suite and operating systems
- Represents the business unit when appropriate, and/or National Jet Express, with the regulatory authorities, Government agencies, clients and service providers
- Ensuring participation in NJE Aviation Safety and Quality Assurance activities
- Contribute to internal auditing management
- Contactable after hours for escalation of operational requirements and emergencies
- Oversee implementation of operational system improvements and provide general support to the Operations team as required
About you

Experience/Knowledge/Qualifications:
- Management experience in an operational role within the Aviation industry
- Ability to lead and influence a team
- Ability to demonstrate well developed organisational skills
- Ability to remain composed under high pressure situations
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
- Able to work under minimum supervision and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- High Attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy in record keeping and documentation.
- Advanced IT skills; Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Proficiency in using aviation software and systems for flight scheduling, crew coordination, and documentation management
- Knowledge of Aviation Legislation in Australia

- Excellent Communication skills both oral (including presentation) and written with the ability to relate to staff and clients at all levels
- Proactive, demonstrates initiative and is a self- starter with a client focus
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with staff, key clients, service providers and external stakeholders
- High level of personal and professional integrity and confidentiality with a responsible attitude
- Good understanding of airline and aviation operational environments
