We currently have an opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our busy Maintenance team working morning shift Monday through Friday 5:00am until 1:00pm.
About the Role
Based in Jandakot, reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead, this role will provide key support by undertaking any repair, maintenance or other mechanical and or electrical service work aimed at expertly returning plant and equipment to proper effecting operation (breakdown maintenance) and will provide expert services to preventive maintenance and workshop programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance with and promoter of company/site OHS&E policies and procedures
- Full compliance at all times with food manufacturing GMP, HACCP and associated requirements
- Compliance with company policies
- Ensure equipment is maintained to the highest level
- Provide immediate breakdown support to the production team at any time during rostered shifts, including during paid breaks •
- Assist in project work as required
- Conduct preventative maintenance to a pre-defined schedule
- Document accurately works undertaken, parts consumed and required, probable causes for failures/breakdowns and provide suggested solutions to prevent a recurrence
To be successful in this role, it is essential that you possess the following skills/experience
- Knowledge of OHS&E practices
- Knowledge and experience of food industry standards, GMP and HACCP
- Experience in food industry plant & equipment maintenance
- Mechanical trade qualification
- Multi-disciplined background experience
- Carry out regular preventative maintenance and breakdown support
- High level of interpersonal problem-solving skills
- A decisive and innovative self-starter
- Experience with MEX or similar CMMS systems
- Ability to analyse tasks & define priorities
- Provide flexibility to meet the changing needs of a food industry business
- Valid drivers licence and own transport
