About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Site Marine Manager, the Operations and Maintenance Coordinator forms part of the HMAS Stirling site management team ensuring the operations delivery and Maintenance Planning component of the Defence Maritime Support Services (DMSS) contract that Serco Defence holds with the Commonwealth of Australia, are met.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Coordinating vessel operational and crewing requirements by maintaining the operations schedule and the Computer Maintenance Management System (currently, IFS (Industrial and Financial Systems)) transactions
- Supporting the safe operation and maintenance of various sized vessels and equipment
- Promulgation and closure of IFS planned maintenance at HMAS Stirling
- Inventory management
- Supporting implementation, deployment, user support and overall effectiveness of IFS in accordance with the current implementation and improvement plans and collaborate and provide backup support to the IFS coordinator (West)
- Ensuring cost effectiveness and efficient utilisation of resources and support longer-term asset management capabilities.

- Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant field or to demonstrate relevant maritime industry experience in operations and Maintenance Planning
- Knowledge of Royal Australian Navy operating practices and procedures - desirable
- Application of OHS and environmental legislation and quality assurance systems
- Experience with Asset Management, CMSS & Operations Management Systems
- Current Driver’s Licence (National Code Class C)
- Experience with programming/rostering/scheduling
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to relate to all levels
- Flexible attitude and self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment as well as without supervision
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Security Clearance: Defence NV1 (Ability to gain security clearance).
