What you will be doing and will be responsible for:
In support of growth, AGC are seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Events to join this exciting, long standing, continually growing organisation. The role will lead 3 direct reports and support a wider team of around 40 people.
This position will oversee the effective operations all events and contracted venues.
Along with the CFO, Operations Manager – Commercial, this position will report to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations to deliver key business objectives, meet budgets and GP goals for events and venues.
- Be the operational lead on large events including Royal Adelaide Show and Adelaide 500.
- Lead a team of 3 to successfully achieve their KPIs and oversee a team of approximately 40 casuals.
- Assess, hire and develop staffing within area.
- Ensure a high level of client happiness and the highest standard of delivery against all contractual obligations.
- Ensure all contract and compliance requirements are met.
- Build strong relationships with all suppliers/event organisers and key event/venue stakeholders.
- Prior experience in an Operations, Venue or Event manager position overseeing the successful execution of numerous, large events.
- At least 5 year’s experience managing a labour-intensive business.
- Prior experience in waste, hygiene or cleaning industries viewed favourably, particularly around understanding machinery, equipment and planning requirements for large scale projects.
- Understanding of WH&S systems, industrial relations and legislation
- High energy and appetite for growth.
- Desire to be part of the leadership team and be flexible subject to the requirements of the business.
- Strong people manager known for developing, motivating and retaining their teams.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Known for being an expert in problem solving, making this happen and jumping in where required to ensure the job gets done to a high standard and clients are not disappointed.
- Willingness to be both hands on and strategic.
- Professional personal presentation.
- Excellent understanding of MS Office Suite, rostering and other cloud-based software.
