OFC Operations & Optimisation Manager

The Opportunity

As the Optimisation & Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day- to- day operation of the Country Road Group Omni-channel Fulfilment centre site. You will ensure service and financial performance targets are delivered to budget and be accountable for the activities associated with accurately and safely minimising cost of moving product from Inbound through to Outbound while maintaining excellent service.

*Note: This role is based at our Truganina fulfilment centre.

What does the role involve?

  • Drive major change initiatives and projects within the OFC and provide cross functional leadership for business improvement activities.
  • Direct people management of 8 team members including 6 zone managers
  • Accountable for building a strong team ethos that facilitates continuous improvement and the creation of a high-performance culture
  • Act to improve health & safety performance and awareness and celebrate safety achievements
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships at store level, Brand Business Partners and suppliers in order to develop a partnership approach
  • Manage OFC to achieve and improve upon agreed service levels to customers and stores
  • Ensure excellent execution of promotional and/or seasonal events
  • Ability to prioritise and manage operational issues whilst ensuring compliance and service delivery
  • Promote sound working relationships throughout the site
  • Optimise product flow through deep understanding of the end to end Supply Chain
  • Ensure consistency of process and procedures across OFC
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly plans & reports for the operations function
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the union / workforce in order to resolve issues effectively
  • Labour planning & resourcing to meet demand, service and budget, rostering and workforce utilisation
  • Provide a clear focus on performance management and career development
  • Managing EBA and providing guidance

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous Operations Management experience within a warehousing and distribution environment.
  • Sound warehousing and distribution experience and skills with an ability to identify and remedy operational inefficiencies and service problems
  • Confident and effective people management experience
  • Defining and meeting service obligations to the customers
  • Confident IT skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Conversant with SDA EBA site agreement, as well as the Industrial Relations System
  • Ability to convert identified opportunities for improvement to commercial business cases
  • Familiarity with KPI’s and using them to monitor and manage the operation
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong motivation, team building and influencing skills
